Color Apprentice - Next Training Program start January 2027

We are looking for licensed cosmetologists who are passionate about hair color and ready to take the next step in their career. As a Color Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced Colorists in a hands-on salon environment while developing your technical skills, building guest relationships, and gaining valuable experience as you work toward becoming a Tricoci Colorist.

What You’ll Do

As a Color Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced Colorists and salon team while developing your skills through hands-on experience, mentorship, and education.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Work alongside and learn from experienced Senior Colorists and Colorists through hands-on mentorship.

• Assist Colorists with color services, treatments, shampoos, and other salon services.

• Develop knowledge and understanding of professional color products, techniques, formulations, and service standards.

• Apply and monitor treatments under the direction and guidance of experienced Colorists.

• Provide a high level of guest service and create a welcoming, luxury salon experience.

• Build confidence in professional consultation, communication, and guest interactions.

• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked color and salon areas.

• Support the salon team by maintaining shampoo areas, stations, dispensary areas, laundry, and other salon spaces.

• Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures before, during, and after services.

• Maintain compliance with Illinois cosmetology regulations and Tricoci standards.

• Actively participate in coaching, mentorship, and educational opportunities.

• Work collaboratively with the salon team to support an exceptional guest experience.

Your Growth Path

The Color Apprentice Program is designed to give licensed cosmetologists the opportunity to build their technical skills and gain experience in a professional salon environment while working toward a career as a Colorist.

As a Color Apprentice, you will have access to:

What We’re Looking For

• Active Illinois Cosmetology License required.

• A genuine passion for hair color and the beauty industry.

• A desire to learn, grow, and develop technical skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A guest-focused mindset with the ability to build meaningful client relationships.

• Ability to work independently while also being an engaged member of a team.

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, customer service, or a salon environment is a plus.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform the physical requirements of a salon environment.

• A positive, coachable attitude and willingness to receive feedback and continuously improve.
